What goes in to mounting a soundbar?

It seems pretty easy at first then you realize you have to get the soundbar level with your TV and sometimes a mantle and that can get tricky.  If you're using the tiny level that came with your TV mount please don't it's garbage..  You have to have quality tools if you want quality results.  Mock up the position of the soundbar and mark the wall where the two mounting screws will go.  Be sure to use drywall anchors, don't screw directly into the drywall as the hole will widen overtime and your soundbar will start to droop before coming completely out of the wall one day and getting back in might require repairing the sheetrock first. Also mark the wall for a spot to run the cable through.  You'll have a power cable and an optical audio cable for the soundbar. The power of course goes to the power outlet and the optical audio cable goes to the TV. It's important that you not make the hole too big behind the soundbar otherwise the soundbar will not be able to cover the hole and the install will not look clean.

Will any soundbar work?

Yes pretty much any soundbar will work when mounting the tv. Some of the older models have less options for connectivity but we can usually find a way and we keep our vehicles stocked with legacy cables to make older model devices work with newer technology TVs. And unlike some of the other outfits we're not going to charge you extra if we have to use one of these cables. We'll be happy to get one off the truck and put back to use. Honestly we have boxes of these things, we'll probably leave two.

Do soundbars help?

YES! Today's TVs are very thin but speaker technology has it changed the same way. You still have to have a larger speaker to have better sound. Not only do flat panel TVs have smaller speakers they are also usually pointed the wrong direction. Sound bars fix both of these problems by giving you larger speakers and directing them towards the seating area.  This extra sound is often supported by a subwoofer that comes with many soundbars. The subwoofer sits on the floor nearby and provides the low (bass) tones while the soundbar handles the mids and highs (treble). This makes for a noticeably improved experience when watching movies or listening to music. We can mount an AV shelf along with the TV and Soundbar to house devices.
